Former star India Cricket Team all rounder Yuvraj Singh has evaded answering who should be the perfect captain for India in T20 World Cup. Yuvraj has claimed that both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are good and experienced batters. But he has gone on to avoid answering the question about India’s captain in T20 World Cup.
In an interview with Sports Today, Yuvraj was asked about Rohit and Virat’s inclusion in the team. Furthermore, he was asked as to how he sees Rohit as the captain of the team.
“I am the not the decision maker her, but I can put things into perspective. Rohit and Virat are great players. But in T20Is, the youngsters are performing very well. Fearlessness is very important in T20Is. When we won the first World Cup, our team was fearless,” said Yuvraj Singh.
“Important decisions also needs to be taken. Furthermore, experience is also needed. A good captain is needed. Where Hardik is available or not, Rohit will captain the side or not is not my decision. Rohit has been a fantastic captain for India and IPL. So that is the selector’s call, not my call,” claimed Yuvraj.
With Hardik Pandya injured as is Suryakumar Yadav, the BCCI recalled Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli into the T20 setup for the IND vs AFG T20I series. With Rohit back into the shortest format of the game, it is imperative that the hitman is likely to lead the Men in Blue in the ICC tournament.
