IRE beat BAN: Opting to bat, Ireland posted a huge total of 177/3 with the help of Gareth Delany’s unbeaten 88 off just 50 deliveries, including 6 sixes and 3 fours. For Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowler returning with the figure of 2-26 in his four overs.
Coming to chase, Bangladesh had a disappointing start as they lost both the openers cheaply along with experienced campaigners Mushfiqur Rahim with the scorecard reading 15-3 in the third over. Soumya Sarkar and Afif Hossain then took the charge but Ireland soon came back strongly and pushed Bangladesh on the back foot again. Bangladesh eventually folded up at 144, falling short by 33 runs.
SL beat PNG: The Lankans put up a score of 162/5 on the board and then managed to restrict PNG to 123/7 in their 20 overs, securing 39 runs win in Abu Dhabi. W Hasaranga and D Chameera picked up two wickets each for the winning side.
