Virat Kohli & Co’s hopes were dependant on Afghanistan after a dismal show against Pakistan and New Zealand. In the end, India fell short of points to become the first top team to bow out of the ICC showpiece event. Former India swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag took a dig at Men in Blue with a meme.

Wasim Jaffer, who is quite active on social media, described the situation with a meme.

Former India allrounder Irfan Pathan wrote a small message for Team India for future ICC events.

“Next time with better planning!” he wrote on a micro-blogging website.

Meanwhile, Shoaib Akhtar shared a picture with a TV user about to switch off the electronic device.

  • Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia and England have made it to the semifinals.
