T20 World Cup: Scholarships for Pakistan T20 World Cup squad at University of Karachi
Addressing an event held in the premises of The University of Karachi, vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Khalid Mohammad Iraqi announced that all players of the Pakistan cricket team who defeated the Indian team by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup match will get scholarships.
“The players will be able to get free education at the University of Karachi,” Dr Khalid said.
It is pertinent to mention here that former captain Sarfraz Ahmed is also studying at a government university.
The Babar Azam-led side have solidified their position at top of Super 12 Group 2 with three wins in three games. Pakistan have thrashed Afghanistan by 5 wickets on the back of a stunning show from Asif Ali who slammed four sixes in the 19th over to guide Pakistan home in a hum-dinger. With the win, Pakistan have also ended Afghanistan’s winning streak of 17 T20Is in UAE.

Earlier, Pakistan thrashed arch-rivals by 10 wickets in the opener and followed it up with five wickets win over Kane Williamson’s led New Zealand. The Men in Green are now sitting atop Group 2 with 6 points in three games and are knocking at the doors of the semi-finals.
