T20 World Cup: Rohit-Hardik major concerns for team India as Kohli-Bumrah only positives

Major concerns for India Cricket Team in ICC T20 World Cup with poor form from Rohit-Hardik. Kohli-Bumrah only positives

As the India Cricket Team continues it’s preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup, there are few concerns yet. India is tipped to be one of the favourites in the competition. But the recent form of some the players in IPL 2024 can be a big cause of concern. The positives – Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah.

Save the best batter and the best bowler in the team, the rest are not at the peak of their form. There are major concerns over the form of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. The Indian skipper and the vice captain had a rather lacklustre IPL 2024. And this is a major concern for the Men in Blue heading into the ICC T20 World Cup.

Kohli & Bumrah shines brightly

India’s arguably best batter and bowler has lighted up IPL 2024 with their exceptional batting and bowling skills. Virat Kohli is topping the Orange Cap charts with 661 runs from 13 innings. The former India skipper silenced his critics with some blistering innings to greatly improve his strike rate. With a solitary ton and 5 fifties, Kohli has a strike rate of 155 and an impressive average of 66.

On the other hand, despite Mumbai Indians’ poor results, Jasprit Bumrah has been their sliver lining. The ace pacer has bagged 20 wickets in 13 games and tops the Purple Cap charts. For Team India, this is a good signs, given that their best batter and bowler are in peak form, heading into the T20 World Cup.

Rohit & Hardik Major concerns

But there are major concerns regarding the form of Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya. Under new captain Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians suffered a lot. The 5-time champions were the first team to be eliminated from the race for the knockouts.

Hardik Pandya neither has been impressive with the bat nor has been impressive with the ball. Adding more concerns is the poor form of skipper Rohit Sharma. With India aiming break their 11 year ICC Trophy jinx, the Men in Blue will have to rely on everyone’s collective strength to perform well.
