Interestingly, the standby players for the World Cup, including Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer has been named in the India vs South Africa ODI series.
However, the aforementioned trio was not picked for any of the ODI matches against South Africa, which starts on Thursday. It allows the players, who are currently playing in the Irani Cup, to leave alongside the Indian players.
Of the three pacers for the training sessions, two are left arm seamers. Chetan and Mukesh are left-arm seamers. The duo has been quite brilliant in the domestic season as well. Kuldeep Sen has been another in form bowler in the domestic circuit.
As of now, Sen and Sakariya are playing in the ongoing Irani Trophy for the Rest of India squad. With ROI in good position, the match is heading for an early finish as well.
Talking about the pace department, India have been found wanting of late. They have been below par in the Asia Cup , Australia and South Africa T20 series. Their bowling at the death has been a concern. The matters have been made more complicated with the injury to Jasprit Bumrah. His participation in the T20 World Cup looks less likely with every passing day due to back injury.
