T20 WORLD CUP – OMN vs PNG Live Score– OMN vs PNG Match Preview: The co-hosts Oman have thrashed Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 10 wickets to kick off their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 campaign in style here at Al Amerat. Skipper Zeeshan Maqsood’s four-wicket and unbeaten knocks of 73 and 50 by opening batters Jatinder Singh and Aqib Ilyas was the architect of the win for Oman. Chasing, a low total of 130 runs, both openers Jatinder Singh (73*) and Aqib Ilyas (50*) returned unbeaten as they took their side over the line in the 14th over. Earlier, Opting to bowl, Oman restricted Papua New Guinea at 129/9 on the back of some excellent bowling performances, especially from skipper Zeeshan Maqsood (4-20). Papua New Guinea, who is making their ICC global tournament debut had a shaky start as both the openers departed for a duck.

Charles Amini and skipper Asad Vala then took the charge and added eight runs for the partnership before Amini, unfortunately, got run-out due to a mix-up. Asad Vala went on to score a fifty and finished as the top scorer for his side, scoring 56 off 43. Barring three batsmen, none of the PNG batters manage to score in double digits.

Zeeshan Maqsood’s 4-20, including three wickets in an over, is the best bowling figure for any Oman player in T20Is. Apart from the skipper, Bilal Khan and Kaleemullah picked up two wickets each.
