T20 World Cup: No Rishabh Pant, Rohit-Kohli headline India’s optional practice before IND vs AFG Super 8 clash

T20 World Cup: Ahead of IND vs AFG Super 8 clash, Rohit-Kohli take part in India's practice session, while Rishabh Pant misses out

The India Cricket Team is conducting practice in full swing ahead of their first Super 8 clash. The Men in Blue led by Rohit Sharma comfortably secured their spot in the Super 8. And now they will face Afghanistan at the Kensington Oval on 20th June. As a result, 2 days prior to the game, the entire Indian contingent was present to prepare for the game sans Rishabh Pant.

The Men in Blue had an optional practice session, but that didn’t stop the stalwarts from being present. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Co were all present and toiled hard in the sessions. Head coach Rahul Dravid was the first to reach the ground to take a very good look at the pitch ahead of the T20 World Cup Super 8 clash.

Rohit-Kohli headline India’s Practice Session

It is worth mentioning that almost all the players were present in the practice session. The only player missing is Rishabh Pant. While the practice session begun in Barbados, it started with a fun segment. Both Rohit, Virat and others joined in for a short football game.

Following which it was time for strenuous practice. Accompanying, Rohit and Kohli in the nets was ace batter Suryakumar Yadav. The trio took on the net bowlers, slamming big and huge shots across all parts of the ground.

It is safe to say that India are practicing and preparing in full force, but not for the Afghanistan or the Bangladesh game. The Men in Blue are rather preparing these two matches are warmups. The main focus lies on the last Super 8 game where India will lock horns with formidable arch-rivals Australia on 24th June.
