T20 World Cup: Netherlands want to repeat 2009 and 2016 performances at 2021 T20 WC: Netherlands have managed to beat England twice in the T20 World Cup. They achieved their first victory over England in 2009, when they were debuting at the biggest stage. It was a memorable campaign for the Dutch players but what followed the next two years, is what they would want to forget. They failed to qualify in the 2010 and 2012 editions. But they made a comeback in 2014 and have been regular since then.

The 2014 edition was the best campaign for the Netherlands as they qualified for the second stage topping their Round 1 group courtesy of wins over the United Arab Emirates and Ireland. The victory over Ireland was a special one as they chased 190 in less than 14 overs. In 2016, they managed another fascinating victory over England by 45 runs and it remains their last win at the World Cup.
The Dutches are back this year with a good record and perhaps in a better position. They have proven match-winners like Ryan Ten Doeschate, Ben Cooper, Roelof van der Merwe and Pieter Seelaar in their ranks and will bank on these to win it for the team. There is also a good group of youngsters with proven abilities. But it remains to be seen how head coach Ryan Campbell forges the two together to make a dogged side, capable of competing with the best that international cricket has to offer.
