MS Dhoni was also seen helping Rishabh Pant practice ahead of the game via throwdown along the boundary sidelines. Pant would be looking to pick his brains on how to complete lightning stumpings.

The development comes days after Hardik Pandya showered praise on MS Dhoni and spoke about his presence on him.
“MS was someone who understood me from the start: how I function, what kind of a person I am, what are the things I don’t like, everything. “He knows what kind of an individual I am. He knows me quite deep. I am very close to him. He is the only person who can make me calm. I never saw him as MS Dhoni the greatest. For me, Mahi is my brother. I respect and admire the fact that he was there when I needed him the most,” Hardik Pandya told ESPNCricinfo.
The all-rounder also stated that MS Dhoni is a life coach for him. “Staying with him, obviously, you learn to be mature, you learn to become humble. I have learned a lot by watching him. He never loses his cool,” he added.

India’s stand-in skipper against Australia, Rohit Sharma accepted that Hardik’s inability to bowl in the T20 world Cup leaves a bowler short.
“Hardik is coming along pretty well, but it’ll be a while before he will start to bowl. He hasn’t started bowling, but he should be ready by the start of the tournament. We have quality in the main bowlers, but you need an option for a 6th bowler,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss.
