World Cup champions get royal treatment: Rohit, Hardik, Surya feted at Anant Ambani sangeet

At the Sangeet, cricket fans were delighted to see not only the celebrated trio but also former captain MS Dhoni, ex-fast bowler Zaheer Khan, and current players like Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Krunal Pandya.

As the countdown to Anant Ambani’s wedding with Radhika Merchant continues, the pre-wedding festivities are in full swing. The couple’s Sangeet ceremony on Saturday saw a dazzling display of music, dance, and a special tribute to India’s victorious T20 World Cup heroes.

Grand welcome for T20 World Cup champions

Team India captain Rohit Sharma, his deputy Hardik Pandya, and star batsman Suryakumar Yadav received a rousing welcome at the Jio World Convention Centre. A video circulating on social media shows the trio standing alongside Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani on a podium.

The venue erupted as the soulful strains of “Lehra Do” from the movie ’83’ filled the air. Attendees rose to their feet, waving their arms in a heartwarming display of appreciation for the cricketers who delivered India’s second T20 World Cup title.

Week of Celebration for Team India

Following their thrilling win over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final, the Indian team faced a delay in returning home due to a hurricane in Barbados. Upon their arrival in New Delhi, they were welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Later, a grand victory parade through Mumbai culminated in a felicitation ceremony at a packed Wankhede Stadium.

Star-Studded Sangeet Ceremony

The Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant Sangeet ceremony was a star-studded affair, attracting celebrities from various fields. Cricket fans were delighted to see not only the celebrated trio but also former captain MS Dhoni, ex-fast bowler Zaheer Khan, and current players like Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Krunal Pandya.

This special gesture at the Sangeet exemplifies the immense national pride India takes in its sporting heroes. As the wedding festivities continue, all eyes remain on Anant and Radhika’s big day on July 12th.
