As per a report by Cricbuzz, BCCI estimate to bag $12m in profits and informed their Apex Council members of the same recently. The report states that of the $7million payment to the Emirates Cricket Board, $5.5 million counts for operational costs, while $400,00 is for the six games held in Muscat. An additional $1.5 million is for hosting the T20 World Cup 2021.

The Sourav Ganguly led board expects a good turnout for the event despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and have given up ticketing rights to UAE and Oman. While BCCI will be posting a $12m surplus, the entire cost of the event is $25 million less than next year’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
