Gilchrist approached Kohli while he was having a chat with Dale Steyn. The former Australia wicketkeeper also gave Kohli a thumbs-up after tapping him on the shoulder. The Indian legend then extended a handshake to Steyn and resumed his practice. The clip of Gilchrist and Kohli’s passionate handshake has gone viral on Twitter.
India surged to the top of the Group 2 standings after their convincing 56-run victory over the Netherlands in the previous match. India have a very great probability of finishing the Super 12 round in the top two spots with four points from their first two games. With 144 runs from two games with a strike rate of 148.45, Kohli is already in first place in India’s scoring lists.
In their next World Cup game, India will face a difficult opponent in South Africa, who defeated Bangladesh by a score of 104 runs in their previous match. Earlier this month, India and South Africa faced off in a three-match T20I series, which India won 2-1 at home.
