T20 World Cup: 10th October D-Day for final squad submission, selectors to discuss Hardik & Chahal with Shastri & Kohli: Follow LIVE Updates

T20 World Cup – India Squad T20 WC: It is being reliably learnt that selectors are planning to have one final call with both Shastri & Kohli on Saturday.

Hardik Pandya’s fitness & inability to bowl is on top of agenda for the selectors. Selectors are concerned about Hardik’s situation. The Mumbai Indians player has once again struggled with his fitness during the IPL Phase 2. According to a member of the selection committee, Pandya’s inability to bowl in IPL can disturb the balance of Indian squad.

“One dimensional Hardik is a concern. He of course can win matches with bat but he was picked in the team for his all round abilities. Obviously, discussion on Hardik’s situation will be done with the team management”, said one of the top BCCI official

India Squad T20 WC – Yuzvendra Chahal can be included in reserves

India Squad T20 WC: Another name selectors are looking to discuss with the team management is of Yuzvendra Chahal. The RCB spinner has been in exceptional form in the 2nd phase of IPL.

There’s a good chance that Chahal could be drafted among the reserves.

T20 World Cup: ICC Deadline for final squad submission explained:

  • According to the ICC, all teams have to submit their final 15 Member squad by the deadline of 10th October.
  • Before this deadline ICC allows participating nations to make changes in their respective squads
  • Post the deadline of 10th October, no team will be allowed to change the members of their suqad on their own.
  • Any changes after the deadline will have to be cleared by the tournament’s technical committee.

India Squad T20 WC: Sunil Gavaskar also raises concerns on Hardik Pandya’s one-dimensional abilities, Bhajji backs Chahal

Not only the selectors but Sunil Gavaskar has also raised concerns on Hardik Pandya’s fitness and not being able to bowl in IPL.

“Hardik Pandya not bowling is a big blow… because he was taken in the (T20 World Cup) team as an all-rounder. And if you are in the team, batting at No. 6 or No. 7, and you’re not able to bowl, then it makes it difficult for the captain. He doesn’t get the flexibility and option that is so required,” Gavaskar said during a television sports show.

On the other hand, Harbhajan Singh is batting for the inclusion of Chahal in the squad.

You have given ur best as always.. keep it up.. and make sure u keep bowling the right pace 😝.. Not too slow OK..still hoping to see you in team India for T20 World Cup.. Champion bowler 👍 https://t.co/ZOhxlNsmhv
