Arshdeep holds the key to India’s success in the tournament:
Coming to the T20 World Cup, team India must be tinkering about who will replace their ace-pacer Jasprit Bumrah after the speedster got ruled out of the tournament owing to an injury. However, Arshdeep has been a perfect replacement for Bumrah as not only he is taking wickets upfront, but he has been India’s go-to bowler in the death overs.
Arshdeep was named in the Indian squad after his excellent outings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The left-arm pacer made his debut for India against England in July 2022. He immediately impressed everyone as he returned with figures of 18/2 in 3.3 overs in his debut match. Since then, the 23-year-old has remained a vital part of the Indian squad.
Speaking about his numbers in the T20I format, the young pacer has represented the Men in Blue in 17 matches and has scalped a total of 28 wickets at an average of 18.14. His economy is also decent at 8.17 considering that he bowls in both field restrictions and death overs. Arshdeep will definitely want to continue his good form with the ball and help his team to repeat the antics of the 2007 T20 World Cup.
