T20 WC Final – AUS Playing XI vs NZ: Glenn Maxwell out of form: Matthew Wade along with Marcus Stoinis pulled off a sensational chase to end Pakistan’s unbeaten run in the T20 World Cup as Australia stormed into the final of the T20 World Cup. The Aussie were clearly nowhere close to playing their A-game but the late blitz from Wade saw pre-tournament favorites Pakistan on the other side of the result. Aaron Finch’s side will now face New Zealand in the final on Sunday & Glenn Maxwell’s form would be a big worry for them ahead of the summit clash. T20 WC Final – AUS Playing XI vs NZ: Maxwell’s form big worry for Australia as Aaron Finch’s side faces off red hot New Zealand in T20 WC Final
Interestingly, both teams – Australia and New Zealand have knocked out both the two pre-tournament favourites in a similar fashion to book a place in the finals. New Zealand needed 20 off two against England, Australia needed 22 off two against Pakistan, and both of them do it with one entire over to spare and 5 wickets in hand.

Going into the final, Australia will be looking to not leave any loose end which can cost them their maiden T20 trophy. And, with that thought comes Glenn Maxwell’s poor run in the tournament.

- He averages just 9.00 with the bat and has scored 36 runs in 6 innings

While Mathew Wade and M Stoinis came to rescue at the much-needed hour in the tournament, it’s high time for Glenn Maxwell to join the party.
However, against New Zealand, Maxwell averages 29.42 with the bat and has scored 206 runs in 9 innings. With the ball, he has picked up 4 wickets in 4 innings at an economy of 7.00. And that might come as a sigh of relief for Aaron Finch’s side ahead of the final clash.

Meanwhile, Sunday’s final will be a repeat of the 2015 ODI World Cup final. The Trans-Tasmania rivals New Zealand and Australia will be facing off in a final of the world event for the first time since the 2015 50-over World Cup. Michael Clarke led Australia registered 7 wickets win over Brendon McCullum’s New Zealand in a one-sided clash at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.
