Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 Live: Kerala vs Gujarat – Gujarat clinched a massive win on Thursday in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 Live: Kerala vs Gujarat – Sanju Samson continued his good form into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, scoring a fine half-century on Thursday. While the rest of the batsmen struggled and were kept at bay by the Gujarat bowlers, Samson was in a different form leading Kerala to over the 120-run mark. Roosh Kalaria picked up two wickets, while Hardik Patel bowled a fine spell of 1/14.

Gujarat meanwhile looked comfortable as they dealt with the Kerala attack with some ease, thanks to a brilliant opening partnership. Priyank Panchal and SD Chauhan scored half-centuries as they put on a fine 113 for the opening wicket. The Gujarat captain was dismissed for a stunning 66, while Chauhan remained unbeaten on 50 to see through the chase. KM Asif picked up the only wicket of the second innings as Gujarat finished the game off in 16 overs.

What to expect from Kerala and Gujarat in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021?

Kerala is considered as underdogs of the domestic cricket. The Kerala was rose to prominence after the rise of the team’s skipper Sanju Samson. While, Gujarat is one of the top teams in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy who has record two titles under their belt. Sanju Samson led Kerala will look to lift Kerala’s first T20 domestic cricket title, whereas Gujarat will look to win record third title.

Both the teams Kerala and Gujarat have players who could help them their respective team titles. Kerala has Sanju Samson, Mohammad Azharudden, Basil Thampi, Robin Uthappa and Basil Thampi. Sanju Samson will look to continue his fine form during the T20 domestic tournament. Kerala skipper had a great outing in this IPL season with Rajasthan Royals.

While, Gujarat will rely on Piyush Chawla, Priyank Panchal, Dhruv Raval, Chirag Gandhi, Urvil Patel and others, to help the team to win the first title of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy since 2014-15 season. Skipper Piyush Chawla is the highest wicket-taker of the tournament.
