Team India’s stand-in T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav scored a brilliant half-century to rescue Indian innings in IND vs SA 2nd T20I in Gqeberha on Tuesday (December 12).
India were reeling at 6 for 2 after openers Yashavi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill fell for twin ducks but Yadav along with Tilak Varma (29) played counter attacking knocks to put India back on track.
The skipper brought up his fifty in just 29 balls. His quickfire innings included 5 fours and 3 sixes as India move towards a big score in the game.
Suryakumar Yadav achieves big milestone
Suryakumar Yadav’s innings helped him went past 2000 T20I runs, making him the join-fastest Indian to reach the landmark. SKY completed the milestone in 56 innings, equaling star batter Virat Kohli.
The 33-year-old is also the joint-third fastest to complete 2000 T20I runs, only behind Pakistan’s Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan, who reached the landmark in the 52 innings.
