Suryakumar Yadav ends 115-day injury exile with silver duck to extend misery for Mumbai Indians

MI vs DC: Suryakumar Yadav departs for silver duck on his comeback to IPL 2024 after prolonged injury

Suryakumar Yadav’s first game in IPL 2024 last just 2 deliveries. The World Number 1 T20I batter was dispatched for a silver duck in the MI vs DC clash. The hosts received a huge boost with SKY’s return after a 115-day injury exile. But as luck would have it, SKY attempted to go for a big hit, mistimed it and departed for a duck.

It was certainly not the comeback that Suryakumar Yadav nor Mumbai Indians were expecting. The World Number 1 T20I batter lasted just 2 balls before Anrich Nortje sent him back packing. Mumbai Indians got off to a good start courtesy, Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

But after the dismissal of Rohit, there were huge expectations from SKY to revive the sinking ship of Mumbai Indians.

Misery Continues for Mumbai Indians

Nothing seems to be going right for Mumbai Indians. They are currently on the bottom of the IPL Points Table. After 3 consecutive losses, MI were boosted with the return of their ace batter SKY. Mr 360 was out of action for 115 days after his ankle injury.

He went under the knife twice, once for his ankle injury and the other for a sports hernia. He finally got his clearance from the NCA, 2 days ahead of this clash. He trained well in the nets and got his chance to play the game. But unfortunately the Red Mist got the better of him as he wanted to mark his return with a big hit.
