Mumbai Indians’ official social media page posted a collage of SKY’s century celebration picture alongside his family’s happy pic from the stands.

In a mesmerizing display of power hitting, Suryakumar thrashed the Titans’ bowlers in the last 3 overs, racking up 50 runs in just 15 balls to complete his century. SKY fittingly reached the milestone on the final ball of the innings, dispatching it over the boundary rope for a six.

Talking about the game, Mumbai Indians registered a 27-run win over defending champions despite Rashid Khan’s blistering knock of 79.

After being put to bat, MI posted 218 for 5 on the back of Suryakumar’s 103 not out off just 49 balls, and then restricted GT to 191 for 8 to notch up their seventh win this season.

Apart from SKY’s incredible knock, youngsters Ishan Kishan and Vishnu Vinod also contributed significantly to Mumbai Indians’ mammoth total. Kishan played an impressive knock of 31 runs, while Vinod provided valuable support with a well-constructed 30 runs off 20 balls.

In reply, Gujarat Titans crumbled under pressure and were 55/5 at one point. However, Rashid’s extraordinary performance with the bat changed the course of the match. He scored an unbeaten 79 runs off only 32 balls, which included three fours and 10 sixes, significantly reducing the margin of their defeat.

For Mumbai, Akash Madhwal (3/31), Kumar Kartikeya (2/37), and the experienced Piyush Chawla (2/36) delivered an impressive performance with the ball.
