‘Superb’, Virat Kohli ‘fan’ Rohit Sharma says this on Queen’s Park Oval centurion

"You need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat did, he played superbly," skipper Rohit Sharma said on Virat Kohli.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma once again heaped praise on Virat Kohli as India won the Test series against West Indies on Tuesday. To note, the second match between India and WI ended in a draw as the rain had the last laugh on Day 5 in Trinidad with the visitors needing just 7 wickets.

As mentioned above, Rohit also praised Kohli as he emphasized on the fact that the team needs batters like Kohli who can ‘Stabilise’ the innings. “You need guys who stabilise the innings like what Virat did, he played superbly. You need the mixture of everything. We have depth, we have got variety. We are in the right place. It’s about getting the job done,” said Rohit.

I always believe in getting better as a team. I said after the WTC final as well. We’ve played consistent cricket. That’s what we are looking at. We want to focus on all three aspects of the game. We need to be a good fielding unit. Bowlers how to respond under pressure. What sort of mindset batters go in with under challenging conditions. That’s what I am looking forward to,” he added.

The senior batter was in emphatic form during the Test series. The right-handed batter played an excellent knock of 76 runs in the first game but did not get the chance to bat in the second innings as the visitors completed a dominating win over the home team.

Coming to the second game, Kohli looked ferocious as ever as the talisman rectified his mistakes from the last game and smashed his 76th international ton. In the second innings of the match, Kohli sacrificed his place for the debutant Ishan Kishan to go out and play attacking cricket. The Southpaw went on to register his maiden fifty as he later thanked Kohli for sacrificing his batting position.
