Sunrisers Hyderabad owners see 138% jump in revenue, thanks to IPL, SA20 franchises: Report

In what is a major boost for the owners of the Sunrisers franchises, their revenue from the teams alone rose from Rs 276 crore to Rs 659 crore in FY24

Sun TV Network, the owners of the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Eastern Cape franchises, have seen a 138% jump in their revenue in 2024, thanks to the two franchises. In what is a major boost to the company, its revenue from the teams alone rose from Rs 276 crore to Rs 659 crore in FY24, with the IPL and SA20 franchise playing a major role in the spike. SRH finished as runners-up in IPL 2024 while Eastern Cape went on to lift the SA20 title for a consecutive time.

SRH owners see massive spike in revenue

As per Economic Times, the increase in revenue was also helped by a rise in revenue from the central revenue pool. Further, it states that the media rights deal between Disney and Viacom 18 is also said to have helped in boosting the revenue of the franchise owners. Sun TV Network maintains that the revenue from the cricket teams will continue to grow in the future and has assured full support for its teams in the upcoming editions of IPL and SA20.
