We are just four days away from the much-awaited 17th season of the Indian Premier League 2024. Ahead of IPL 2024, Legendary India batter Sunil Gavaskar has predicted which player is going emerge as the standout player of the stellar season.

When asked about who could maybe turn out to be the breakout player this IPL season, Sunil Gavaskar said “Dhruv Jurel can be that person definitely. The way he has batted this year and the way he batted last IPL, he can definitely get a promotion up the order. “

According to Gavaskar, Jurel had shown promising batting performances both this year and in the previous IPL, indicating that he could potentially be promoted up the order.

“Akash Deep, he hasn’t got a lot of opportunities, but the way he has shown performances on the big stage in test matches, probably he will get more opportunities now, and that can make a big difference.” added Gavaskar

How did Dhruv Jurel perform ahead of IPL 2024?

Jurel was roped in by the Rajasthan Royals during the IPL 2022 auction at a base price of Rs 20 lakhs. However, he didn’t make his debut for the Sanju Samson-led team until the IPL 2023 season, where he showcased remarkable batting skills.
