Sunil Gavaskar confident on India Cricket Team’s maiden Test series win in IND vs SA Test series

Gavaskar has opined that with South African pacers Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada missing the Test series, India would be able score 400+ runs consistently and in turn win their first ever Test series

The Indian Cricket Team has been one of the most consistent teams in the past couple of decades, dominating almost every other team irrespective of conditions. However, South Africa is a frontier that the Indian team is yet to conquer in Tests. No Indian team has been able to win a Test series in South Africa yet. However, Indian legend Sunil Gavaskar feels India have a great chance to win the IND vs SA Test series.

After the three-match IND vs SA ODI series, India will play two Tests against South Africa. The first Test will be played on December 26th and the second Test will take place on January 3rd.

Gavaskar has opined that with South African pacers Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada missing the Test series, India would be able score 400+ runs consistently and in turn win their first ever Test series.

“Absolutely. Look at South Africa, they are without two of their best bowlers. No Nortje, no Rabada. Now this means that the Indian batting line-up can, if they play sensibly, they should be able to put up 400, 400-plus scores without too much of an issue. Yes, initially, it will be little bit tough while the ball is shinny red and with the bounce. But that’s what Test cricket is all about. That’s why you’ve got five days. They need to bat well. If they keep scoring 300 and 500, they will give their bowlers enough of an opportunity to be able to knock the South Africans in both the innings,” he said in a conversation on Star Sports.
