The Indian Cricket Team has always been blessed with a lot of talent right from the start. The slots have been limited but the talent pool huge. So it is no surprise that India’s opening pair is seeing a race in the ongoing IND vs SA T20I series. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad will fight it out for one opening slot with Shubman Gill more or less confirmed for the other slot. Former Indian cricketer believes Sunil Gavaskar believes Rututaj Gaikwad will be a better fit for the role.
Gavaskar acknowledged that Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored runs and admitted that it is a good headache to have for management.

“I know Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored runs. It’s a good problem to have. It’s a problem of plenty,” Gavaskar said while speaking on Star Sports.
Yashasvi has played 13 T20Is since making his debut. He has an average of over 33 in T20Is, scoring runs at a fantastic strike rate of over 163. His impeccable form has made it hard for the Indian team management to omit him from the starting XI.
However, Ruturaj Gaikwad has also showed why he is considered one of the best young talents currently.
With the first T20I washed out, it will be interesting to see who the Indian team management will pick alongside Shubman Gill for opening slot in the second IND vs SA T20I.
