Indian women’s side has often faced the wrath for their poor fielding, especially during high-stakes encounters. Despite not being part of the playing XI, Yadav’s acrobatic effort sent Sri Lankan opener Vishmi Gunaratne packing. The incident occurred during the very second ball of the Lankan innings. Indian pacer Renuka Thakur induced an edge from Gunaratne’s bat, who tried to hit after stepping out. The ball soared up high towards the point, where Radha was stationed as a substitute for injured skipper Harmanpreet Kaur.

With incredible agility, the 24-year-old ran back, judged the ball’s trajectory perfectly, and dived forward to pluck the catch out of thin air. The ball nestled safely in her hands, leaving the commentators and spectators in disbelief. Her spectacular catch will certainly be going to be hailed as one of the best of the tournament. It gave a sumptuous start to India, who were tasked to defend 173 runs against Sri Lanka.
