Having made his debut against Sri Lanka in December 2007, Broad has been a vital and consistent part of the England Test team. Participating in 167 matches, Broad has taken over 845* wickets. As the news of his retirement spreads, Twitter is abuzz with an outpouring of well wishes for the esteemed cricketer.

The accomplished bowler from Nottinghamshire bids farewell to international cricket with an impressive collection of achievements. It includes being part of the victorious 2010 T20 World Cup team and contributing to four Ashes series triumphs.

Among his many highlights, his career-best figures of 8 for 15 against Australia at Trent Bridge during the 2015 Ashes will forever be celebrated as one of the most exceptional displays of fast bowling in the sport’s history. Broad was even honoured with the appointment as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) during the 2016 Birthday Honours list.
