It will be India who will be taking on Australia in an epic finale at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19). The anticipation is sky-high among fans, and they are waiting for revenge of the 2003 final, with India winning this time in a home World Cup. Even Star Sports have planned to go all out for this blockbuster clash. Instead of the usual pre-game show from 12:30 PM, Star Sports have planned to start the pre-game show from 7:00 AM onwards.

IND vs AUS is the second biggest rivalry after IND vs PAK. Although England fans would say Ashes is the biggest thing, over the last 10 years, IND vs AUS contests have been the biggest thing, particularly in World Cups.

The last time when these two teams met, India suffered a heartbreak in the 2015 semi-final of the WC. But it is 20 years back, that Australia delivered a knockout punch to India in the final that still lives on.

None of the players in the present Indian team made their debuts. So Rohit Sharma & Co won’t carry that scar. Only one member of the 2003 World Cup is in the Indian dressing room – Rahul Dravid who is now a coach.
