India A registered a convincing win over arch-rivals Pakistan A in the Emerging Asia Cup 2023. Youngster Sai Sudharsan stole the show with a magnificent century, scoring 104 runs off 110 deliveries, including 1 six and 10 fours. The 21-year-old, who has been included in India’s Asian Games squad as standby player, has made a strong case for himself for the upcoming IND vs IRE T20Is, starting from August 18.
Sai Sudharsan has been in terrific form this year, with the all-rounder piling on runs in IPL 2023 and TNPL 2023.
A brilliant IPL, A staggering TNPL
Sudharsan, who was bought by Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 Auction, made his mark in this year’s tournament. The youngster was the fifth-highest run-scorer in the competition with 625 runs in 14 matches at an average of 44.64 and a strike rate of 144.19.
Sudharsan then continued his dream run in TNPL 2023, where the batter ended as the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament with 371 runs in six matches at an average of 74.20 and a strike rate of 172.55. His innings included four fifties, three of which came in consecutive matches.
Emerging Indian star lighting Emerging Asia Cup
Sudharsan is now litting up the Emerging Asia Cup with his fearless batting. The 21-year-old has score 170 runs in just 3 matches, which includes one unbeaten century and an unbeaten half-century.
Based on these staggering numbers, it would be difficult for the selectors to ignore the young batter. India’s T20I skipper Hardik Pandya, who is also the captain of Gujarat Titans, will be eager to get Sudharsan onboard.
