STA vs HUR Live: Joe Clarke century powers Melbourne Stars to first win in BBL 2022-23 season against Hobart Hurricanes
STA vs HUR Live: Melbourne Stars’ opening game resulted in a tight loss. They put up a good fight with the ball, but they didn’t really play well with the bat. Any possibility of them making a significant score in the first innings was destroyed when Marcus Stoinis was dismissed for nothing. They had a pretty strong bowling attack, and their skipper Adam Zampa came through by taking wickets at regular intervals to keep Melbourne Stars in the game.

At this level, the Hobart Hurricanes consistently play some excellent class cricket. They have a respectable set-up and one of the best minds in coaching in Ricky Ponting. They made some excellent signings in the draught and have match-winning players all throughout the setup. Tim David had a disappointing BBL season last time around, but he has more experience now than he did then since he has travelled and played in different countries. Quite a few of their players are out of form, yet it is necessary to achieve overall balance among the playing 11 for them.

Pitch Report
The Melbourne Cricket Ground’s pitch is known for being a favourable surface for batting. However, teams have had difficulty scoring high totals here as seen in the T20 World Cup. MCG is expected to have a good batting surface for Big Bash League’s upcoming season. The pitch would offer some assistance to the pacers in the opening overs, but the wicket will primarily support the batters. The middle overs are when the spinners would be used. Teams must perform well across the board in order to be competitive in the games they play here.
