Shah Rukh Khan made a spectacular comeback as the host of the prestigious IIFA Awards after more than ten years, creating an unforgettable experience for his fans. During the event, co-host Karan Johar asked a question on SRK’s retirement plans, and his witty response once again highlighted why he is known as the Badshah of Bollywood.
In response to Karan, SRK said, “The hallmark of legends is their ability to recognise the right time to retire. Icons like Sachin Tendulkar, footballer Sunil Chhetri, and tennis great Roger Federer all knew when to step back. Now, Karan, I think it’s time for you to consider retirement too.”
Karan humorously countered, asking, “By that standard, why don’t you retire, SRK?” Shah Rukh playfully replied, “I am a different kind of legend. I’m like MS Dhoni—despite saying no, he ends up playing 10 seasons of IPL.”
Vicky Kaushal honours SRK’s Legacy
Vicky Kaushal applauded SRK’s continuing legacy, stating, “Retirement is for legends; kings are forever.” The evening ended on a high note for Shah Rukh Khan, as he won the Best Actor award for Jawan. Before accepting the award from director Mani Ratnam, he paid his respects by touching his feet.
