Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal withdraws from ongoing BAN vs SL 2nd Test due to family emergency

Sri Lanka had already won the first Test against Bangladesh by 328 runs

Sri Lankan senior batter Dinesh Chandimal had to withdraw from the ongoing BAN vs SL 2nd Test due to a family medical emergency, casting a shadow over the ongoing match. Details surrounding the emergency remain undisclosed as Sri Lanka’s tailenders faced off against Bangladeshi spinners on the penultimate day, aiming to bolster their mammoth lead.

Chandimal’s departure left Sri Lanka with the option of substituting a fielder in his place for the remainder of the contest. Despite his contributions of 59 runs in Sri Lanka’s imposing first innings total of 531, Chandimal’s abrupt exit on Day 3 added to the uncertainty surrounding the match.
