Sri Lanka series boosts Rohit Sharma, brings him closer to Babar Azam’s top spot in ODI Ranking

Rohit Sharma has climbed up to second place in the latest ODI batters ranking published on Wednesday.

Rohit Sharma has moved up to the second spot from the third place in the latest ICC rankings for ODI batters with 765 points. The Indian captain is getting closer to Babar Azam, who is currently ranked first on the list and is only 59 points behind Babar’s score of 824. Shubman Gill has dropped to third place, while Virat Kohli is in fourth. This means three Indian batters are among the top five in the rankings.

Rohit Sharma’s performance in Sri Lanka series

Rohit played well in the recent ODI series against Sri Lanka, even though India lost 0-2. The 37-year-old was the highest run-scorer, with 157 runs from three matches, averaging 52.33 and having a strike rate of 141.44. He hit two half-centuries, with his highest score being 64.

Siraj falls five places

In the ODI bowling ranking, Kuldeep Yadav is currently ranked fourth with a rating of 665. Jasprit Bumrah also remains in his position with a rating of 645. Mohammed Siraj has dropped 5 spots and is now tied with New Zealand’s Trent Boult at 643 points in 9th position.
