Ahead of the ENG vs BAN 2nd Test, Sri Lanka have announced their playing XI. In the Sri Lanka Playing XI vs England, 2 crucial changes have been made by the visitors. For the Lord’s Test, Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Kumara will go on to replace Kusal Mendis and Vishwa Fernando.

Following the poor performance in the previous, i.e. Manchester Test, the Sri Lanka Cricket Team is ready to pounce on England. The Aim for the visitors is to put up a good show to draw the series. Both Mendis and Fernando weren’t too good in the previous game, and in a bid to improve the team, the two changes were made.

Kusal Mendis managed to score just 24 runs combined in both innings While Vishwa Fernando was able to bag just 2 wickets in the entire game. The visitors will be hopeful that their gamble to bring in the replacements would work wonders for them.

Lanka skipper Dhananjaya de Silva heaped huge praises for Pathum Nissanka, hailing him to be the best batter of the country. He also added that Nissanka has a great technique which makes him adjust to the red ball format with relative ease.

“Overall, Pathum is the best batter in the country at the moment. He has a good mindset and he has a good technique. If we can get him into the team, that’s great. I have been talking about it for a while now. I think he will adjust to any format,” said Dhananjaya de Silva.
