SRH vs RR LIVE: With T20 World Cup in mind, Sanju Samson sends BIG MESSAGE to selectors with BLITZKRIEG 25-ball 50

Sanju Samson put in a performance of the highest quality as the Rajasthan Royals captain led from the front in his team’s first IPL 2022 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Samson was at his aggressive best as he took the attack to the SRH bowlers, scoring a fine fifty in the process.

Samson built vital partnerships with Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal as Rajasthan Royals made the most of the conditions and punished the SRH attack. The RR captain was particularly impressive against spin, taking Washington Sundar to the cleaners, who finished with a spell of 0/47 from his three overs.

Samson have a timely reminder of skills as he finds himself out of India’s T20 squad. Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav have made themselves the top picks in the middle order while both Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad are in contention for the backup opener’s role. Samson’s versatility and his ability to hit the ball cleanly makes him an exciting proposition for the T20 World Cup in Australia and the Kerala born star will hope to continue his rich vein of form throughout the tournament.
