“We were very surprised Kane was given out, particularly when we saw the replay. I can understand why the on-field umpires taking it upstairs. When that happened, we saw the evidence, it looked pretty clear to us what the decision was,” Tom Moody said at the post-match press conference.

The catch changed the complexion of the match as Kane Williamson was SRH’s batting mainstay and it opened the flood gates. SRH went on to lose five wickets for a paltry 37 runs in 10 overs, chasing 211.
Despite Aiden Markram’s fighting half-century and Washington Sundar’s strokeful 14-ball 40, it wasn’t enough as SRH lost the match by 61 runs.

However, SRH did not fair well with their bowling either. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a golden chance to get Jos Buttler out in the first over when he edged it to slip after Bhuvi set him up well. Bhuvneshwar overstepped and Buttler got a reprieve. He survived once again when Samad dropped him at slip but it also turned out to be a no-ball. On the freehit, he gave away a catch. Buttler ended up with 35 off 28.
Tom Moody called the indiscipline bowling unacceptable and said it did cost them the match.

“It is unacceptable. No-ball in this format and you get heavily penalised and we paid the price. You dismiss arguably the opposition’s best player and you have them on the edge at the beginning of the innings and it’s a no-ball,” Moody said.
“Once you give a player of Jos Buttler’s quality give a life, he will bring all his tricks and realise he is on a free run. Four no-balls in the first five overs and a dropped catch and a total of six wides cost us the game,” Tom Moody added.
