Chasing a mammoth 211, Sunrisers Hyderabad crumbled under pressure. Although Aiden Markram scored a fifty and Washington Sundar smashed 14-ball 40, it was Prasidh Krishna and Yuzvendra Chahal who starred with the ball to rip SRH apart.
Prasidh Krishna dealt a double blow in his first two overs, removing Kane Williamson & Rahul Tripathi. Trent Boult and Prasidh combined as RR managed the lowest powerplay score of IPL with 14/3.
But the powerplay wasn’t the end of SRH’s poor show. Bu 10 overs, SRH were 37/5 with the top-order cleaned up. Yuzvendra Chahal was impressive in the middle overs, scalping three wickets for just 22 runs. In the end, Markram and Sundar did their best but the match was already over for them.

Earlier, asked to bat, Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal set the stage with 58-run stand inside the powerplay. While Jaiswal and Buttler were removed in quick succession, it didn’t matter for Rajasthan. Before his wicket, Buttler received two lifelines with Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowling a no-ball when he was out in the first over.
Sanju Samson partnered Devdutt Padikkal for an impressive 73-run stand off just 41 balls to plunder SRH bowling. Washington Sundar, Abhishek Sharma were hammered. Samson brought up his half-century off 24 balls while Padikkal scored 41. In the end, Shimron Hetmyer (32 off 13) played a brilliant cameo with 32 off 13 to help Rajasthan Royals post a mammoth 210/6 at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
