And after 20 overs of pain of hapless Mumbai Indians, the Sunrisers Hyderabad’s innings finally ended at 277/3 in 20 overs, making it the highest-score in IPL history ever. Right from the get go, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma were in punishing moods, and got to their fifties in 16 and 18 balls, respectively.
But that is not even the best part about the SRH innings, who were on a record-breaking spree on Wednesday, in IPL 2024. What’s even better, just about every batsman joined the party, except for Mayank Agarwal, who was dismissed for 11 only.
Highest Score in IPL, For Starters
With 277 being the highest score, SRH surpassed the previous best set by RCB in 2013, by over 14 runs. The erstwhile Bangalore side had scored 263 against Pune Warriors India. Now, the third on the list is LSG’s 256/5 vs Punjab Kings in 2023.
If that’s not enough, SRH became the second-fastest team to bring up 200, in the quickest time. They reached the milestone in only 14.4 overs, while RCB are in the first place, who reached the mark in 14.1 overs.
