SRH vs GT Weather report: Rain expected to hamper the second innings at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad

Is rain expected spoil the party for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT)? It seems like it!

SRH vs GT Weather report: Rain might play a spoilsport when the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) take on the Gujarat Titans (GT) in Match 65 of IPL 2024 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal in Hyderabad on May 16.

While the Titans are already out of the picture, this is extremely crucial tie for the Orange Army. SRH are currently in fourth place with 14 points from 12 matches. A win here will not only keep them in playoff contention but also open up a possibility of finishing second depending on other results and their Net Run Rate (NRR). They are high on confidence after a dominant 10-wicket win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their previous match.

What happens if SRH vs GT clash gets washed out?

If the rain gods intervene and wash out the crucial SRH vs GT clash, both teams will get 1 point each. For GT, they will finish their IPL 2024 campaign at 12 points. However, Sunrisers will be automatically qualified for the playoffs. The Pat Cummins-led side will get that ‘Q’ in front of their name, as they will get their points tally to 15.

Having said that, SRH will still have one game remaining in their hands. Hence, if they clinch their last league game, which is against PBKS, SRH will end up on 17 points. This means that their aspirations to end up in top two gets diminished as if RR wins their last game they would get through to the Qualifier 1. RR are currently standing with 16 points and could get to 18 points.
