It must be admitted, that India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an IPL legend, and SRH not retaining him isn’t justified. After all, the right arm pacer has been with the franchise for over 10 years and has won numerous games for them, and even led them in a few. In 145 matches for the, Bhuvneshwar has picked 157 wickets at an economy of 7.72 only, and is their most successful bowler ever.

SRH too might be tempted to get him at the IPL Auction, scheduled to take place on November 24, 25. Having said that, at R Ashwin’s mock auction, SRH already did that, and spent INR 7 Cr to get Bhuvi’s services. One of the most surprising picks of the IPL mock auction was, Ajinkya Rahane being sold for 3.25 Cr, despite not being impressive in IPL 2024. In fact, CSK players were a big hit for SRH, at the mock auction, as they also bagged Mitchell Santner for 2.5 Cr, Tushar Deshpande for 5 Cr, Nishant Sindhu for 70 lakh, and Maheesh Theekshana for 4 Cr.
One of the other key observations was, that SRH did not go for any of the star players. One of the reasons could be, at IPL retentions, they spent 75 Cr on Nitish Reddy, Heirich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and Abhishek Sharma and have a purse of only 45 Cr now. So at the IPL Auction, the opportunity of getting any top Indian player is virtually ruled out.
