SRH Playoff Scenario: So far, the Sunrisers Hyderabad have not had a spectacular Indian Premier League 2023 season. - May 13: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants at 3:30 PM
- May 15: Gujarat Titans vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at 7:30 PM
- May 18: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore at 7:30 PM
- May 21: Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad at 3:30 PM
Sunrisers may be ninth in the points table, but with four games remaining, they may go up to 16 points if they can pull off a last-minute comeback. SRH are the only team to have played ten matches so far, while five other teams have played 12. Thus, they have the biggest chance of catching up, as they may potentially double their current point total of eight.
If SRH win their last four matches and end up with 16 points, they will have a good chance of qualifying. It may still come down to net run-rate, since five teams might wind up with 16 or more, but SRH will be right there. If they drop even one match, they will be at the mercy of a number of other results, since up to six teams, excluding SRH, may reach 16.
If LSG and RCB lose two of their remaining matches, including one against SRH, their chances of qualifying are all but over. With DC already out, they may do SRH a tremendous favour by defeating the Punjab Kings, taking them out of the equation. Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals should both lose the last three games to open the way for SRH.
