Every Indian cricket fan wants Ravi Shastri to remain the same forever. The former India head coach is known for his straightforward style of speaking. After his hilarious comment on India’s incredible collapse at Cape Town, the all-rounder has one-upped himself with his speech at the BCCI Awards 2024.
Shastri was given the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award towards the end of the award ceremony. In typical Ravi Shastri fashion, the former head coach advised Rohit Sharma and Co. to play hard and within the spirit of the game, and to enjoy some ‘spirits’ off the field after a grueling day of Test cricket.
“It is a marquee series, play hard, play hard, play well within the rules and spirits, and spirits after the playing hours.”
Shastri was talking about the upcoming IND vs ENG 5-match Test series which will start on January 25 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. When Shastri was India’s head coach (2017 to 2021), India had beaten England twice at home and drew against England away from home.
