India take on Pakistan on Oct 14 in what will be the biggest clash of ICC ODI World Cup 2023. And ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash, fans are already in a banter mode on social media platforms. And with Virat Kohli’s supreme record against Pakistan, some fans even called the neighbours “Son of Virat”. Kohli played a memorable innings in IND vs PAK T20 WC clash last year. And last month, he blasted a century against Pakistan in Asia Cup. Now, it’s Round 3 at Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday.
It goes without saying IND vs PAK is not just a battle on the pitch but also between two countries and the cricket fans.
While neutral fans do enjoy such matches, fans take on each other on social media platforms.
In this video, some of the Indian fans were asked how would they describe Pakistan using their first name?
While some were creative and nostalgic about Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar and Inzamam Ul-Haq, not everyone wanted to praise the bitter rivals. Ahead of the IND vs PAK game, some fans called Pakistan out for their poor fielding, some called them unique.
One that stood out when an Indian fan said he had massive respect for the team and their talent.
“Aptitude❤️ pakistani teams become from player ,bro dont forget sohaib wasim amir rauf ,real cric fan always respect talent.”
IND vs PAK Round 3
On October 14 at the world’s largest cricket stadium, India and Pakistan will face off once again. While ODIs maybe the dying format with not many fans in the stadium even during World Cup, the match is going to be sold out.
Even though Pakistani fans are still waiting for visas, Narendra Modi Stadium will be full to the brim with fans travelling from every corner of the country. And for sure, there will be many neutral fans at the stadium as well.
Not to forget, Pakistan do have an edge over India in ODI format. Pakistan have won 73 matches and lost 56 games to India in 134 matches overall in ODIs. However, when it come to World Cup, India have the edge. Pakistan have never won a match against India in ODI World Cup. India have won each of the seven encounters. Can India make it No 8?
