Sneh Rana achieved the second-best numbers ever by an Indian bowler in the Women’s Tests on Sunday. In the match against Laura Wolvaardt’s South Africa at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the off-spinner concluded with figures of 25.3-4-77-8. The record is still held by left-arm spinner Neetu David, who set a staggering 31.3-12-53-8 record against England in Jamshedpur in 1995.
India on top of their game
South Africa was under a great deal of pressure following India’s massive first-inning score of 603 for 6 (declared). Shafali Verma’s 205 gave the innings impetus after Smriti Mandhana’s 149 knock set the groundwork.
