BCCI calls meeting of IPL owners on April 16, no official agenda declared

The meeting is anticipated to be attended by BCCI officials, including President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, and IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.

A meeting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) team owners has been scheduled for April 16 in Ahmedabad by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). According to a report from Cricbuzz, the meeting is anticipated to cover a number of policy decisions intended to influence the IPL’s future, specifically with relation to player retentions, auction procedures, and the salary cap.

Formal intimation received

All ten IPL franchise owners have received invitations, and it is anticipated that they will be joined by their CEOs and operational staff. The meeting itself, though, is exclusive to owners.

The meeting is anticipated to be attended by BCCI officials, including President Roger Binny, Secretary Jay Shah, and IPL Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal.

Official agenda not disclosed yet

The IPL CEO, Hemang Amin, is the one who sent the correspondence about the meeting. It is expected that the meeting will cover important matters, especially in relation to the impending mega-auction. However, Amin has not yet disclosed the agenda.

“They will discuss the way forward for the IPL,” a source familiar with the matter was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Now it remains to be seen which way the meeting goes with different IPL teams having different opinions about the issues.
