“Sloppy Skipper” Fans slam KL Rahul for ‘Poor’ Keeping in IND vs AUS 1st ODI

KL Rahul was poor behind the wickets as the Indian skipper missed a run-out chance of Marnus Labuschagne. Apart a few other fumbles.

Indian stand-in skipper KL Rahul had a bad day in the field as the wicket-keeper missed a certain run out of Marnus Labuschagne. Apart from that missed chance, Rahul was quite sloppy against the pace bowlers as several balls got past the keeper. However, Rahul reprieved himself with a lucky stumping of Marnus as Ashwin got his first ODI wicket in quite a long time.

Shreyas Iyer also dropped David Warner earlier in the Match

Apart from Rahul, other Indian fielders are also not having a good game on the field. Earlier in the match, Shreyas Iyer dropped a sitter which proved to be costly for the Men in Blue as opener David Warner completed a fifty after getting a reprieve. Despite so many misses, the home side have bowled well and have not let the Australians to dominate the match.

Indian pacers especially Mohammad Shami was excellent with the ball as he grabbed two crucial wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Steve Smith. The spin duo of Ashwin and Jadeja have also scalped one wicket each before the rain arrived in Mohali. At present, Cameron Green and Josh Inglis are at the crease for the visitors.

Insidesport

Earlier, India won the toss and opted to have a bowl first on a good-looking surface in Mohali. We’ll bowl first. Historically a good chasing ground, that’s about it. There are a few boxes that we need to tick and the boxes that we’ve ticked we need to keep doing it better. One more challenge, best team in the world so good to play against them,” Rahul said at the toss.
