In a typical Pakistan fashion, Shadab Khan and Asif Ali made a meal of a simple catch handing Bhanuka Rajapaksa a crucial life during the Asia Cup final. The left-hander who scored a half-century looked to up the ante in the end overs, miscuing a scoop down towards the boundary.

The drop proved costly as Bhanuka Rajapska continued his onslaught on the Pakistan bowlers. The left-hander picked up 14 runs from the 20th over of the innings as Sri Lanka managed a fighting 170/6 batting first. Rajapaksa remained unbeaten on 71 off just 45 deliveries, helping Sri Lanka to a good total after they were reduced to 58/5 after 9 overs.
