Australia suffered their first defeat since January 2021 as Pat Cummins and Co stumbled to an innings and 39 runs loss at Galle on Monday. Leaders of the World Test Championship table, Australia crumbled as Sri Lankan spinners run riot, levelling the series 1-1.

Australia last suffered an innings defeat back in 2016, when South Africa sealed an innings and 80-run win at Hobart.
