SL vs AUS Live: SL vs AUS 2nd Test – Economic situation has worsened in Sri Lanka as fans now have started to protest outside Galle International Stadium amidst the ongoing second Test match between Sri Lanka and Australia. The angry protestors now want ouster of Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, who has now fled away from the country. Already the island nation was under economic turmoil since May, but no action has been taken. Protesters have now lost cool and were seen outside Galle Stadium to get the attention of the government. As you can see from the above video, thousands of people have stormed near Galle International Stadium wanting justice and change in government. Lots of attacks have also taken place due to economic crises. A severe shortage of foreign currency has left Sri Lanka reeling and has left them without some of the basic essential imports.

SL vs AUS 2nd Test: Australia skipper Pat Cummins rallies behind locals, asks people to support via UNICEF – Skipper Pat Cummins has come out in support of locals and asked them to show support via UNICEF. Cummins is the brand ambassador of it and is doing his best to help Lankans come out of this economic turmoil.

“Day-to-day life here in Sri Lanka is tough at the moment,” Cummins said in the video which was viewed by more than 30,000 people.

Australia’s Test skipper also spoke to two young girls to understand what the country was going through since May.

“We’ve been following it closely. It is something we spoke about in our team meetings as well,” he said.

“I was on a call yesterday and was chatting to some young girl cricketers. They’re down to one meal a day and are going to school a couple of days a week because the teachers can’t get to school.

“They’re from a fishing village and a lot of them can’t go out to fish because they have no petrol. We are certainly seeing the effects. That has really hit home for us.

“No matter what the result is, we are in a really privileged position and there are lots of people that are making this happen for us to have a bit of fun and go out and play cricket. So we are really lucky.”
