SL Squad Afghanistan Series: The Sri Lanka Cricket Committee has announced a 16-member squad for the first two ODIs of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. Sri Lanka will host Afghanistan from June 2–7 in Hambantota. Follow Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan Updates with InsideSport.IN

Sri Lanka will continue to be led by Captain Dasun Shanaka, with Kusal Mendis as his deputy. However, there have been some notable changes to the squad since their last ODI series against New Zealand. Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne has returned to the ODI squad, while Nuwanidu Fernando has been dropped. Dilshan Madushanka, Pramod Madushan, Sahan Arachchige, and Dimuth Wellalage have also been excluded from the squad.
IPL returnees Wanindu Hasaranga, Matheesha Pathirana, and Maheesh Theekshana are also in the squad. IPL 2023 winner Pathirana can also make his ODI debut after a successful outing in the premier T20 tournament.

Afghanistan announced their squad earlier this month and will be led by Hashmatullah Shahidi instead of leg spinner and T20 phenomenon Rashid Khan.
